It will take the health and wellness coaching profession to the next level.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This has been a year long process to qualify for this exam. I had to complete two rigorous programs in advance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Institute for Integrative Nutrition Immersion Program<\/li>\n<li>75-hour Quantum Coaching Program led by Marilena Minucci (the photo of Irma and Skelly holding my certificate)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div><script>(function(d, s, id) {  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;  js.src = 'https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.12';  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));<\/script><div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10155574205683758\" data-width=\"500\"><blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10155574205683758&amp;set=a.10150106577373758.290370.620688757&amp;type=3\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\"><p>Proud of this moment.....Skelly&#039;s proud too.<\/p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/irma.jennings\">Irma Jennings<\/a> on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10155574205683758&amp;set=a.10150106577373758.290370.620688757&amp;type=3\">Tuesday, September 26, 2017<\/a><\/blockquote><\/div><\/p>\n<p>This exam is a big step towards health coaches becoming part of our health care system. The medical model desperately needs health coaches to help patients\/clients implement lasting change.<\/p>\n<p>I'm thrilled and honored to be part of the first wave of high-level coaches who will have this certification! The results of this exam will be available around the 2nd week of December.<\/p>\n<h3>There is another reason why this moment is important to me.<\/h3>\n<p>My mother\u2019s name was Irma.<\/p>\n<p>She had a wild sense of humor, loved people, hated to cook (I think) because her signature dish was baked spaghetti. A gawd awful mixture of Velveeta cheese, bacon, Campbell\u2019s tomato soup, and yep you guessed it, spaghetti. Bake this sucker for what seemed to be 24 hours and eat it for a week.<\/p>\n<p>Then the fun came to an end.<\/p>\n<p>My mom was diagnosed with early onset vascular dementia.<br>\nI was 16 getting lost in my hormone surges.<br>\nShe was in her 50\u2019s getting lost walking around the block.<\/p>\n<p>My sister and I didn\u2019t have the mental and financial resources to tend to my mom\u2019s health. My father left home around the time of her diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>My mom lived a long and sad life with this illness, going from nursing homes to finally a state run mental institution. Her life came to an end in her 66th year.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2018, I will be 66.<\/p>\n<p>My mother\u2019s illness has shaped my life. It made me determined to keep my mind sharp, my body healthy, and my bones dancing long past an age my mother never could enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>I keep my bones strong by feeding them and caring for them with all I have learned over many years.
